Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?

Job security has gone to the dogs, literally.
A prison in Angola, Louisiana has hired a pack of 120 pound malamute wolf hybrids to patrol its perimeter.
The penitentiary bred the guard dogs to cut costs. The entire eighty wolf-dog squad costs just $60,000 per year to maintain, compared with $34,000 to keep one human guard employed.
This pooch versus prisoner approach appears to be working. The prison houses 5,300 prisoners, with more than half serving time for murder, and no one has tried to escape the grounds since the new guards were put on the payroll. Prisoner and convicted murderer Louis Cruise says, “You may run, but they will catch you.”
So, I guess with unemployment and cost cutting measures on the rise, it truly is a dog eat dog world out there….
