A Cool Summer Job

Summer isn’t all flip flops and belly tops. I just got a summer job which I am really psyched about, and apparently my timing couldn’t have been better.
Because today I read an article written by Jack and Suzy Welch titled Dear Summer Intern. The article gives some key advice on how to make the most of your summer job. It may be written more for college grads hoping to turn their summer internship into a real-life job. But, it’s never too early to listen to people who are giving priceless life lessons for free, especially when the people who are giving them are Jack and Suzy Welch.
Basic pointers include the importance of a good personality, a smile, hard work, going the extra mile, and letting people know you and that they need you. But it also talks about something called “Area of Destiny.” This means finding a job that you’re truly meant to do. How great is it when you hear people say I love my job. Chances are it means they have found their “Area of Destiny.” They are doing something they truly enjoy and they are doing it well.
That could mean a a lot of things for me. Ice cream scooper, lifeguard, dog walker, zoo keeper, horse sitter, pet photographer just to name a few. I’m not sure where my “Area of Destiny” is going to be, but I’m gonna have fun trying to find it.
Peace Love Profits,
Blake
